Meet Veronique and Stefano

Veronique is passionate about food and Stefano, about mixology and together they are delighted to host a tapas and cocktail experience. Veronique has many years of experience in the culinary industry – from being a private chef in Ibiza and London to working at restaurants in Milan and Lake Como. She also has a decade of experience in the creative industry – her background in event production, photography, and creative direction adds a unique perspective to her culinary work. She believes in using the freshest, highest-quality ingredients to craft memorable dining experiences. Her expertise spans various cuisines and techniques, and she is always looking to innovate and surprise her guests with every dish. Veronique's co-host and partner, Stefano, is a mixologist with a master’s degree in hospitality. Stefano’s passions include music, obscure homemade ingredients and hats. After his masters, he completely immersed himself in the world of recipe development, consulting, and events. Veronique is originally from Italy and Stefano is originally from Cyprus, they have recently relocated to Barcelona, and are eager to continue their culinary journey in this vibrant city, to learn, grow, and create unforgettable dining experiences for new audiences.

What to expect

Please note menu might vary. If there are particular dishes you are interested in trying, please include your request in the booking form.

In-home meal: (1-5 guests) Veronique’s cooking style is a fusion of her Mediterranean roots and her passion for Asian culture. She also promotes holistic products to raise awareness and knowledge about the power of food. Join Veronique and Stefano in their 120sqm modern loft, located in the center of Barcelona in the Born quarters, surrounded by local food markets and shops. You can expect a fully immersive experience that combines food, art, sound, and storytelling to create unforgettable memories. Each course will be thoughtfully paired with custom cocktails designed by Stefano, the in-house mixologist, enhancing the flavors and elevating the overall dining experience. A few dishes that you might try as part of the tapas menu are tuna tartare with romesco sauce, tempura sardines with lime sauce and balsamic reduction, tomatoes and watermelon carpaccio with feta cheese crumble and herbs, crispy eggplant with sweet chili and tahini sauce, asparagus salad with pickled radish and creme caramel flan with seasonal fruits.

Cooking experience: (1-5 guests) During your Barcelona Tapas cooking class learn to make Mediterranean inspired dishes with a twist. Join Veronique in her home kitchen for a 1-hour cooking class, where you will learn to make lemon aioli, tuna tartare and a tomato and watermelon carpaccio with feta cheese crumble and herbs.

After cooking, join Stefano for a 15-min cocktail workshop. Learn about the techniques and ingredients before being guided through the process of making a cocktail. Stefano will show you how to make a dignified Tinto de Verano, a play on the classic drink, but dignified - instead of a house red wine, he uses an infusion of sweet vermouth with seasonal spices and in place of lemonade, he uses a homemade, zero waste lemon cordial. For your second cocktail, Stefano teaches you how to make Albahaca Smash, a gin and basil cocktail and a bartender’s favorite - served fresh and really, really cold. This drink demonstrates the Middle Eastern roots of Stefano, with the bright flavors of basil and lemon on the forefront of the palate - the twist is using Oloroso sherry and white rum that adds more depth than the traditional recipe.

Market visit: (1-5 guests) Meet Veronique at her apartment and together walk 5-mins to the Santa Cataterina market. This is a 30-minute guided tour of Mercat de Santa Caterina - a buzzy central market featuring a unique, wavy roof and colorful mosaics, with a variety of vendors selling fresh fruit, vegetables, fish and seafood. The market houses a mix of traditional food stalls and sleek modern restaurants, both with a huge variety of delicious offerings. Join Veronique as she introduces you to local, regional ingredients as well as her favorite vendors. You might buy a few ingredients before returning to Veronique's home for your cooking and cocktail class.

Notes: Veronique and Stefano can accommodate lactose free, gluten free, vegetarian and vegan diets, if informed in advance. Please let them know if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies while booking your Barcelona cooking class online.
