My family and I just had the most amazing cooking and learning experience with Lucia! My wife and I love to cook and try to do a cooking class when we visit new countries and cultures. So we have done many over the years and our experience was Lucia was one of the best! We were with our two daughters and sons-in-law so there were 6 of us. Lucia lives in a beautiful home with a spacious kitchen. After we arrived and put on our aprons she explained in detail what we were going to cook and the process. Her English was perfect. She then put us all to work giving us specific tasks to do and managing all of it. Lucia also had an assistant, Eva, who was helping us with various techniques and kept things clean and organized. We made many dishes: two salsas, red and green; two types of quesadillas, huitlacoche and squash blossom; sopes with beans and chorizo; a cactus salad; green mole chicken; and a dessert made with the cactus Xoconostle. We also made all of the tortillas we used, including kneading the masa, and pressing them differently for the quesadillas, sopes, and the ones we ate with our meal. Having been a teacher of gastronomic history before starting her cooking school, Lucia taught us a lot about the food as we were making it. After we prepared all the food, she served us what we had cooked, along with drinks (beer and tequila for those who wanted it), and we feasted on it all while enjoying her backyard view. Lucia provided recipes for what we had cooked by email and offered to answer any questions we had. The whole experience was great and I cannot recommend this cooking class highly enough, especially for a family or small group of friends. Thank you, Lucia!
